Marriage

The sacrament of marriage or matrimony is the joining of one man and one woman as God intended from the beginning of creation when he formed Adam and Eve from one another and sanctioned their union of love as one flesh. The grace of the sacrament helps the man and the woman to love one another faithfully and to bring up children in a Christian environment. Marriage is a lifelong union in which spouses give themselves to one another unselfishly and bring one another closer to Christ and to heaven.

Those intending to get married at St. Peter Church or who have questions about the sacrament should contact the parish office at least six months in advance to schedule their wedding date and to allow for enough time to take the marriage preparation sessions.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who in his great mercy gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
